The Paris Agreement has been essential for many corporate promises, including Amazon and Cargill. The historically right-wing group of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce opposes the president`s decision to withdraw from the agreement. The UN report warns that the terrible effects of climate change will come sooner than expected. This is why we need to follow the report`s advice and why every tonne of emissions reduction can make a difference. By quantifying the damage done to society by CO2 pollution, Trump sees America as an island apart – and we all know what climate change is doing to the islands. On June 1, 2017, President Trump announced his intention to withdraw the United States from the agreement. In response, other governments have strongly reaffirmed their commitment to the Agreement. Schoen, who also wrote for Fox, said that an exit from the Paris Agreement “only accelerates America`s withdrawal from global political and economic leadership.” Republicans have issued mixed criticisms of Trump`s decision to step down.
